Let customers speak for us
from 16 reviewsGreat product, first rate communications and trwmendous dedication to quality
Such a beautiful book! Incredible design and super fun to play. I’ve a weakness for stories, novels, and games set in London. This one satisfied my itch!
An outstanding scenario collection. It’s rare these days that I’m so impressed with the quality of an RPG supplement/scenario pack to write a review, but this is one of those rare occasions. Darkened Hill & Dale is a collection of folk horror scenarios with a delicious dark twist. Well-written with an accompanying full-colour handouts pack for players (a great touch), the book contains seven scenarios, all of which are systemless but contain enough information to make it an easy job for GMs to convert for their preferred set of rules. I bought the physical hardback version which came with a PDF version of the book and handouts and I’ve been very impressed with both the physical and electronic versions of this product. I can’t wait until I can torture…err, run these scenarios for my players’ enjoyment. If you’re in need of this genre of scenarios, why not take a chance and support a small company, you won’t be disappointed.
Well, all in all a really excellent product. Just reading the scenarios was enough to get my creatives running, but considering that the price included the harback copy, the pdf, handouts for players and message from Sarah, and with postage included, I really am most impressed and will be keeping a careful eye onPatchwork Fez for further products. Highly recommended, many thanks to all involved.
A great scenario, beautifully presented.
A very creepy, well-written and well-presented module. The NPC's are well-drawn, with enough characterisation to run them at the table well. The central premise is very weird, and the mystery will take a bit of digging by the players, but is solvable. The maps and art are also very cool. I'm really looking forward to running this one!
This book is a joy. The NPC's are plausible and easy to picture, which is essential when running an adventure.
The situations are genuinely creepy; and, while it often draws on established folk horror tropes and myths, it almost always gives them an original twist.
Where the compilation really stands out, though, is in putting it's creepy setups in something that feels like ordinary Britain. I've never seen that done so well in an RPG. I'm looking froward to running these, and eagerly awaiting the next instalment of 'This Blighted Isle'.
Fantastic set of horror scenario ideas easily convertible into the RPG system of your choice.
The author is obviously has a passion for thier work and even the packaging reflected this.
Lovely, detailed information provided.
Fantastic work from a great writer - top notch props too!
Excellent collection of system agnostic scenarios.
I have really enjoyed the creative perspective on Folk Horror in Darkened Hill & Dale. I have yet to use the scenarios with a gaming group, but have already enjoyed reading through them. The quality of the production is wonderful as well.
Beautiful book, well written with an obvious love for the genre.
